Truth and Reconciliation Day

At The Hive, our facilities operate on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island. In British Columbia, this land is unceded, meaning it was taken without consent. In Winnipeg, while the land is under Treaty, there are still significant challenges in the relationships between settlers and Indigenous peoples, as well as ongoing systemic racism throughout the country. This day stands as a reminder of the fact that we have much work to do.

In recognition of this responsibility, and as part of the larger work we are doing throughout the year, on September 30th we will be donating the full proceeds from all day pass sales from our BC locations to organizations that support Indigenous communities, many of which focus specifically on Truth and Reconciliation. Here are the organizations we’ll be supporting this year, please click the links to learn more:

On September 30th, all locations will be open from 12PM to 9PM. If you would like to donate directly to one of these organizations, you can do so through the sites linked above. We hope you’ll join us in taking time to reflect and learn about Truth and Reconciliation, and to celebrate Indigenous culture and creativity as well.
